City of Harvard Wastewater Treatment Facility – Phase 1A Improvements

November 7, 2024

To facilitate improvements of the Phase 1A project at the City of Harvard’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, the electrical system had to be overhauled. A 2000-amp main switchboard was installed, which feeds power to several new motor control centers and panelboards. The switchboard also includes provisions for future improvements. Additionally, a network of power and control duct banks was installed throughout the site to convey power and control signals between various pieces of equipment. VFD’s were utilized to provide power savings and allow the City the ability to control the speed of equipment.

Additionally, the entire Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system was replaced. This work included installing new servers and workstations within the Administration Building to monitor and control the SCADA system. PLCs and field devices were also installed to monitor and control various pieces of equipment.
