Fox Metro Water Reclamation District’s 54” Primary Clarifier Effluent and 42” RAS force mains were constructed in the late 1970’s. The original design incorporated hydraulic plug valves downstream of the pumps to prevent backflow. The District was seeking to replace the hydraulically operated valves with traditional plug/check valve arrangements as well as surge valves where necessary. Trotter and Associates was retained to verify the structural conditions, re-establish the existing pump system curves, evaluate the surge analysis and ultimately prepare bidding documents for the project. TAI will be assisting the District during the construction phase, which is expected to begin late 2024.
